Shed guide · Roofing

Choose between heavy-duty mineral felt and corrugated Onduline.

Every roof uses a timber framework with substantial cross struts. The timber thickness follows the shed range, while the weatherproof outer covering can be felt or Onduline.

The timber roof beneath

Beast roofs use 25mm timber planed to a 20mm finish. Other ranges use 16mm timber planed to a 12mm finish. Large cross struts are positioned at specific points to add strength.

40kg green mineral felt

Standard roofing uses 40kg heavy-duty, cross-threaded green mineral felt. The supplied comparison image demonstrates how difficult this felt is to tear compared with a lighter competitor-style felt.

Onduline

Onduline is made from cellulose fibres impregnated with bitumen, compressed into a 3mm-thick corrugated board with 50mm corrugations. It is a more durable alternative to felt and is designed to remain weatherproof for many years.
